Last week I was laughing to myself as I got an email from an AP Friday as I was turning off my computer to leave. He sent me two emails about two different students (one of whom I had last semester but not this semester) out with COVID. The email came so late from the AP (who is supposed to be sending them as soon as they are aware of the situation) that the students are out of quarantine and returning to school today (Monday). I laughed it off and said to myself "well at least they just missed review of last semester materials and not anything new!". I should have shut up 🤦🏼♀️ This morning when I come in, I had 4 emails from students (not their parents, not the APs) letting me know they'll be out til midway next week with COVID due to testing positive over the weekend. I definitely jinxed my classes! One of my kids was even super apologetic about exposing myself and their classmates despite being the only one out of the entire outage that wore a mask vigilantly. It's only Monday and there were 19 cases in two days in our (relatively) small campus. I'm terrified to see how it goes...
