School has no math or science curriculum - is this normal?

Post Body

I took a job at a charter school against my better judgement, as the special ed teacher in math and science ICT classrooms. Come to find, the school has no apparent math or science curriculum. The science teacher--a 25 year old who has only taught for one year, remotely--is putting together lessons every night, by googling the subjects and combining the first YouTube video she finds with some teachers-pay-teachers worksheets. The math teacher has been at the school for three years, but also seems to be just making up some problems for each day, and then having the kids work independently on IXL.

Is this remotely normal? The administration apparently told the teachers that it's part of their philosophy, because they want the curriculum to adapt to the needs of their students. I say that's completely ridiculous, and they obviously just don't want to pay for actual materials. The general ed teachers are being totally taken advantage of, and I am not going to have any part of it. What say you all?
