Let me get this straight... I LOVE TUTORING!!!! I've done it for 8 years prior.

I began my teaching career in July of this year, hopeful as ever. I thought that because I love tutoring so much, I would also love teaching. I began teaching at a virtual school for the county I live in that serves K-12 students. I love the students, but everything has been extremely mismanaged, more and more deadlines and to-do's are put on me everyday, and I have to teach a certain way or my methods are "incorrect" and I will be written up, on top of the illuminate tests that are very discouraging to the students. This is not what I thought teaching would be at all...

My prior experience is ONLY tutoring for 8 years, along with various other customer service jobs. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Human Services otherwise. In this situation, I was hired on a provisional teaching license, contingent upon my completion of a certification program within 3 years. I have not started this process, nor do I have the intention to do so after this experience.

With all of that being said, I really want to quit. How many weeks notice should I give?? I know that It is almost October and I have only been teaching for 2~ months, but I have stayed up until 10pm - 3am every single night working... It has since made me gain a significant amount of weight, become depressed, and really lose hope in our school systems. Don't get me wrong, the students are awesome mostly, but this isn't what I want to do with my life... I really would love to finish the year out, but my life is valuable too. I don't want to waste these next 8 months working a job I hate when I could use that time to find another job, establish a business, go back to college, or whatever I feel is my next step in life.
