Should I become a teacher?

Hey teachers of Reddit! I recently switched careers to something new and am starting to realize it might not be for me. Now, I am thinking about becoming a teacher. I wanted to a few years back but at the time I thought that the money was too low and it would take way too much schooling to complete. Now, because of the stress of my new job, none of that seems to matter anymore... plus I LOVE teaching people new things, it’s seriously one of my favorite things to do.

So here’s my questions: what now? I live in Alaska, have very little college education, and I’m not even sure if there are a lot of teaching jobs available? Looking at online job sites it seems few and far between, but that may be an illusion. I think I’d want to be a high school teacher, possible subjects might be English or Spanish or money management (if that’s an actual thing), or even philosophy. Maybe government too? How do I decide? Is it even worth it at this point in my life (I’m 31) to start down this path? I have my wife to support me through this, but also I would feel bad for not bringing in much cash if any during the time it would take to get my education. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
