I'm new to teaching 7th grade math. They've been doing great for the first quarter but now they will not do a thing I say. I've taken their chromebooks away, phones away, and now they've been treating me like dirt. I have to tell them multiple times during class to be quiet and get back to work. I'm in a rural school and live in the town i teach. I was having issues with students knocking on my windows, but that has ceased due to admin involvement. I'm getting super frustrated that this group of boys will not listen to a word i say. Unfortunately, when i was asking my coworkers they told me that the parents to some of these 7th graders treat their kids like their little angel did/does nothing wrong. Its the only class i have that makes me feel like i'm a shitty teacher and that i shouldnt be there. Any suggestions on how to handle this? I've exhausted every option i can think of. Thanks in advance
