Post Body

Hey guys first year teacher here, I just started teaching in the last few weeks and finding the work to be just killing any resemblance of life I had. I'm working nearly 7 am to 6.30 pm every day and most of Saturdays. This is with the management and the principal actively encouraging work/life balance.

I love working with the children and having a really good time with them in the class but all the other crap is just killing me.

I've begun thinking maybe I could work as a school librarian? Or other support staff? I'm thinking of doing a diploma in Library and Information sciences to do so.

The hours are shorter and you actually (mostly) work for the time you are being paid for. Only down side would be I wouldn't be paid during the holidays, which I don't mind for various reasons.

Has anyone else made that kind of transitions? What do you guys think?
