Iāll keep this short as possible:
Iām a recent college graduate with a Bachelorās Degree in Fine Arts who wanted to Teach Elementary School Level Art (since thatās what I got inspired to do art from) and because of some issues with my Advisor I couldnāt take all the required courses to add a Teacher Licensure to it.
Anyway, Iāve signed up to the iTeach program about this time last month and have been trying to figure out which Praxis test I need to take in order to start my Learner Residency program at a school. Itās says on the iTeach website to ātake and pass your content area Praxis II content testā and I just want to make sure I pick the right one(s) before wasting money on one(s) I might not need to take (yet). And it also says in the test submission part that āif seeking certification in Elementary Education, do the 5001 exam (multi-subject exam, Test Code 5002-5005) and all of them must be passed to satisfy this requirementā
O- Iām in Tennessee and it says on the praxis.ets.org site that I need to take:
one Principle of Learning and Teaching (PLT): -grade area- test to be certified in āall areasā
and three Core Academic Skills For Educators -Reading, Writing, and Mathematics- tests to be certified in āadmission to an educator preparation programā
O- everything else is just under Content Knowledge Assessments for Specific Endorsement Areas and the one I think I need to take from those is āAll Gradesā - Art: Content and Analysis(5135) to be certified in Art K-12(Visual Arts)
I know this sounds straight forward but Iām panicking because I havenāt had the guts to make any progress yet and would just like some advise
