Some context: I have a masters degree and I’m endorsed in ELA/Theatre, have my National Board Cert, varying experiences as a union rep, grade-level team lead, drama / Model UN advisor, equity lead, 504 monitor w/ a caseload of 25 students, and about a decade of experience in the classroom, specifically working with “at-risk” populations. I’m 33 years old.
At some point I will probably move school districts. Given nationwide school closures and budget cuts, my fear is that a district will pass me over for a younger more inexperienced teacher they have to pay less.
Is this a realistic fear?
