Post Body

5th year teacher here.

I’m having one of my harder groups ever this year. 58 student split in two grade 5 classes. They seem to be the first group I’ve ever encountered to not know how to take an exam? Or even study for one?

After teaching fractions in the new curriculum (disparity out of the gate) for 4 weeks, we had them write the exam today.

Some handed in blank exams with tons of drawings and multiple accused me of ‘never even teaching this’.

Parents asked me to send homework home, so I did. Lo and behold, when it came time to correct..less than half had their homework done.

I hate to say it but damn, this sucks.
