Teaching in/near Concord NH

Post Body

My husband and I are considering moving near Concord and Manchester NH. I live in VT and I am currently teaching 7-8 math and science in a public school with temporary licenses but (hopefully soon) will be earning my initial license in middle school math and just waiting to hear back from the AOE. This is my second year teaching. The previous year, I worked at an alternative school for at-risk high school boys and taught math.

I loved working at the alternative school. It was exhausting but very rewarding and focused on vocational and experiential learning. I ended up leaving because I was driving 50 min a day to get to work and was paid poorly. I really miss the school and the staff I worked with.

I am teaching at a public school this year and it honestly feels like Iā€™m a first year teacher again. Still working out the kinks of managing my classroom and feeling like an effective teacher.

My husband and I are looking for a change in our lives and considering moving to NH. I was curious if anyone has insight to getting licensed in NH from another state and what schools are like in the area, public and private. I would love to work at a school focused on experiential learning and possibly working with at-risk boys again.

Thank you for any advice and help you can offer!
