Sometimes I collect class notes as an easy quiz grade during lecture days to boost kids grades. Well, today I asked "L" to put away his other classwork twice, and he didn't. So today was one of those days. L turns in another kids work, down to the grammatical errors and formatting, and so he receives a zero.

He comes to my room and asks why and I say, "well you turned in M's work. Show me yours and I can fix your grade."

L, "Well, I dont have my own. I shared with him because I was working on English."

Me, "And as I said, my class is not English and it is definitely not a study hall. You plagiarized and did not mentally attend my class today. You get no credit"

L, "That's bullshit, but okay."

Energy to email mom=0. She can do her job, check sons grades and reach out if she's concerned. I'm going to go have a margarita and kick my feet up, and be done with the bullshit !
