As of lately, I have gained interest in getting a masters in Applied linguistics with a concentration with adult ESL instruction. During my senior of college (I graduated 2022), I intended as an ESL tutor at a technical college. At the time, I had my heart set on going into medicine; however, I decided I wanted a career that would allow me to still have a life and give me the same reward that medicine would. I’ve always knew I wanted to help people, and as an esl tutor, I was doing just that! Not to mention, I was meeting many global citizens from around the world! So, I ask: 1) how is working as an ESL teacher in America with a masters. 2) what is the pay like given teaching shortages ? 3) is there room for growth? In addition, please include what working as an esl teacher would be like outside America, especially if you are partnered.
