Hey everyone! So I’m not a teacher but a potential future teacher. Both my grandparents were teachers for 40 years, and so are multiple other people in my life. For years I’ve struggled with which profession I feel would be best suited for me and my goals. I’ve mainly considered teaching as well as becoming a therapist. I’ve known for a long time I want to make a positive impact on others lives and make a difference, I love giving advice and helping others become the best version of themselves. However, I don’t have a lot of experience with children.
My questions to all of you lovely people are:
What made you realize you wanted to become a teacher?
What are some characteristics of a good teacher, in your experience?
How much uncertainty did you experience of your career choice leading up to getting a full time teaching job?
I appreciate any and all advice!
