I have a very advanced group of freshman taking Geometry this year. Now that we are doing remote learning I had to teach trig by making videos that correspond to my slides but thatās boring and very different from our normal group discovery activities. I canāt really tell if theirs googling the answers to regents question I give for homework or not so I decided to give them a protect. They were asked to make their own real life trig problem. The problems they came up with were great and showed some deep understanding of the topics we went over. So out of 87 problems I took 10 and make the test using those problems. I also added a few harder questions using āThe Officeā layout. I asked them to determine the distance between michaels office and Pamās desk based on some other info. I had a really good time making the test and using pictures of the students pets, office memes, and I just hope they have a half decent time taking the test.
Itās been a rough time for the kids. Two of them each lost a parent during this pandemic. Theyāre going nuts being stuck inside. Iām trying my best.
