Just an observation I wanted to share that makes the soul crushingly beautiful yet heart breaking loml a little bit easier to bear. I notice that Taylor (I assume intentionally) never states that Matty is also the love of her life. She just repeats how he said SHE was the love of HIS life. Although in the end she states that he’s the loss of her life, this simple observation made me feel some sense of relief for her because I think she agrees that Matty was not the true love of her life (or Joe or anyone else perhaps) even though the relationships so real and breakups so painful. Hopefully she’s found her true love with Travis or whoever else her future holds :).
Not sure off the top of my head if she states in other songs someone was truly the love of her life but just wanted to share that. Let me know your thoughts!

After a breakup just a day ago, this album and this song is hitting me so, so hard. I've honestly never connected with and felt a song so deeply before.
