Seasonal employee let go, no prior notice
Post Body

Iā€™m so confused, and a little angry to be honest.

Hereā€™s some backstory. I was hired as a seasonal cashier, and from the get go it seemed like they really liked me. Throughout my time there, I kept making it known to the GSTLā€™s that I wanted to say and that I was interested in cross training. Whenever I told them that I wanted to stay, I would always get positive feedback, but no firm confirmations that they were keeping me ( which I understand for obvious reasons)..

However, I did have 2 verbal confirmations from a GSTL and one HR person that they were keeping me on.

Fast forward to today, I go to clock in, and the time clock says that Iā€™m not allowed to clock in. I go to tell my GSTL and she tells to me go try start my meal and see if it works. I do, time clock the same thing. I tell her and she says ā€œhmm, odd. Must be because youā€™re in a new status since youā€™re being changed from seasonal to a regularā€.

Fast forward again to 5 minutes before my shift is about to end, they tell me to go into an office and they have my final paperwork ready for me and my final pay. Iā€™m like WTF!? Iā€™m still scheduled for stuff next week.

I donā€™t even know if this is making any sense because Iā€™m still pretty heated... bear with me... but WHAT THE FUCK. I know this decision wasnā€™t made overnight. Iā€™m not upset about being let go, i understand that I was hired as a seasonal employee... Iā€™m pissed the fuck off that no one told me to my face, especially when I asked less than a week ago..

Iā€™m calling to HR tomorrow to give them a piece of my mind.

Has anyone else had a shitty experience like this?
