Is it okay to turn down a TL position?

Today a TL approached me and let me know that a spot is going to be opening for market TL and thought I should apply when it does. Thing is I’ve never worked in market and know nothing about it. Will turning this down because I’m not comfortable in that area show a lack of confidence and make leaders think I’m not fit for promotion?
P.S. I’ve been a fulfillment tm for 3 years.
