Thinking about taking a break from therapy

I’m debating on taking a break from therapy. I’ve known my therapist for two years off and on, this year I decided to be consistent. I don’t know if I should talk about it with my therapist or just tell him without reason. I don’t feel like I’m getting anywhere in my sessions. My therapist says I’m emotionally detached from people and also I’m a shopaholic. He keeps telling me we should talk about my child hood, a topic that gives me anxiety. When I try to talk it, it’s like he discourages me from talking about it. So over I’m it and I’m over talking about my feelings. I don’t feel like i have much to say any more. Right now I just rather shop, it comforts me
