Not tied directly to therapy but it’s close. My Therapist is on vacation this week. I was researching Psychoanalysis transference and countertransference on Perplexity AI and just started to feel down. I put it incognito mode and just started to confess how I was feeling; how I hate that my Therapist is not a friend but I’m a client for him. Thats how it started, but AI kept giving me reassuring messages and steps to take care for myself and to get help or confide in others. I did that for a couple of minutes and then it responded at the end and said something like remember you are doing the best you can in a difficult situation…that I should be proud of myself…keep taking the steps even if they are small…Brighter days are ahead.
I know it’s AI, but that paragraph made me teary eyed.
I was thoroughly surprised at its responses.
I still think journaling is great, but today for me it was nice to get responses even if it was from AI. My only suggestion is to use it incognito mode.
