Hi folks!

My therapist recently started her maternity leave (I am assuming 12 weeks but she didn't clarify) and she set me up with someone as a cover for the interim period. I was ok with this idea and have had two sessions with this new person but honestly feel exhausted by THE WORK it will require catching her up on everything. I think that initial period is so painful in therapy and I just don't want to do it again for a temporary person. I am currently home and very emotional and tired after session 2 and this isn't really serving me...

I am feeling very torn: I like having this weekly space for me to go through various issues but is this even worth it when it could take 5 sessions to catch her up on the basics so we have 5 decent sessions??

How have others handled this? Did anyone opt out of going to the alternate when their therapist took medical or maternity leave?
