I see my therapist once every few months and every session just feels like a recap without going into things much. How do I go about making use of sessions?

My country has free care. Naturally, many would make use of the services rather than paying for private care. Because of this, I'd see my therapist once every 3, or sometimes close to 4 months. Obviously a lot happens in that time especially with the various issues that arise because of my unmedicated mental disorders, and issues at home. It also is roughly the length of a school semester that would go by before I see him again too. That in itself is a whole other thing. These past few sessions I've come to realize that a LOT of notable things gets left out due to time constraints. I started to write them down in a book in point form so that he's aware of things that happened (which he liked) but all the time was used up by briefly going through and discussing each point. Never in depth about anything. Even then things get left out because I'd try to make the list as short as possible.

With my most recent session, I kinda forgot that I was supposed to have one so I was very unprepared. I'm very quiet/timid during his sessions, maybe because I'm unintentionally matching his energy? Not sure but even after being in therapy about 4 years, I still don't feel comfortable talking. He's not bad at his job. Maybe it's because of the combination of such infrequent meetings and his soft-spoken 'therapist voice'? How can I help my situation?

Edit- I don't have any contact info for him, they don't give it out
