This seems like a silly question but im not sure. I started therapy a few months ago with the intention of getting DBT, but ended up with a counselor who focuses more conversational therapy than my mental issues. Its not what I wanted, but its who I was matched with through the practice I go to, and I like my therapist as a person so Its not too bad. The therapy helps, but I have serious mental issues so I set up an appointment with a very good psychiatrist for later in January. This psychiatrist is not apart of the group I get therapy from, as they have restrictions on what they can prescribe, and in such a dire situation I donβt trust them not to drop the ball again. Is there an issue with mentioning to either practitioner that I get therapy/psychiatry in a different practice? Should I just keep it to myself or should I mention it?
