Insider opinions on serving at chain restaurants

Post Body

I'm looking for any input anyone can offer about working as a server for chain restaurants. Even better if anyone has the scoop on any in the Chattanooga area specifically.

I'm currently a delivery driver in the area. I've been doing this for about 4 years. I've come to understand that there is good money in the service and hospitality industry. But I'm getting burned out by the long, late hours, the constant overtime, and the lack of commitment or appreciation from higher management. I need a change, and change is terrifying.

More than anything I would like to find a place with clear and comprehensive leadership structure and training, shifts that start and end in the same calendar day, decent pay and/or tips, and (dare I dream) some basic benefits. It seems to me that a chain restaurant would be a good place to check most of those boxes and get a sense of whether or not serving is for me.

Thoughts? Give me anything you've got.
