Just read a story similar to this and thought I’d post mine… well, not mine, told to me by my coworker and manager after the fact. Still one of my favorite stories to date…
I’m gonna try to keep this short and sweet, but pretty much this younger guy with LONG black hair came and sat and ordered a burger. Gets about 75% of the way through his burger and calls his server over. Server has SHORT black hair, host has blonde hair. No busser, slow shift.
Guy then complains about a long black hair in his burger, poking out the side. Server goes to get the manager. Manager walks over and laughs in his face pretty much. Super obvious this guy was trying to get his meal for free. They argued for a little bit, until the manager asks him if he wants her to grab the head cook (the only person in the kitchen at this time). Guy smirks and says yes.
She goes to get him and doesn’t tell him what’s going on so he comes out into the restaurant all confused… In all his bald-headed glory.
The guy knew he lost at this point, and paid his tab. He even tipped. My manager gave him some credit for trying and told the chef after he left why she needed him.
Overall, super funny to hear afterwards. I mean the guy tried his best and accepted his defeat. When he saw the chef he kinda lost the air in his lungs and just said “how much was the burger?”
