Do you enjoy being there? Do you look forward to the start of your shift with enthusiasm, or dread? I can tell you that from the beginning of my shift until I clock out, I do not want to be there. I feel very anxious the whole time, unless it's dead, and I'm always kind of disappointed when a table comes in, I'll basically let any other server I'm with take any of my tables if they ask (within reason obviously). On the flipside, I believe I am very good at my job and, at least at the place I work, exceptionally good. I usually make at least 50% more than the next highest tipped person and my sales have been consistently the best for months(And I'm actively avoiding taking tables, mind you!). And I don't feel like I work with an incompetent crew, I just feel like they don't have the same sense of anxious urgency that I have and it sort of gives me an edge. Anyway, just kind of wanted to get that off my chest; anyone relate? Any advice you could offer?
