Giving people more time to decide after they said they were ready. How do you handle it?

Post Body

So before I would just stand there and wait. Then I tried asking them what they are trying to decide between, asking them if they'd like more time, or if I can just come back to them. On a busy night with multiple large tables, this all eats up everyone's time. Especially when these assholes don't want to answer the above

So recently decided to just control the flow and decide for them. Had a 8 top. I asked everyone if they were ready. Got all yes's except two women being chatty through all this.

I'm going around getting orders then it comes to them. They don't know what they want. I asked if they needed more time, no response. I just took the wheel and said "I'll come back to you". Next chatty girl wasn't ready either or paying attention. Ok cool, "I'll give you more time" Next woman was at least somewhat ready after realising the other 2/3 are still deciding. I get the rest of the orders and come back. They look displeased. Like they expected to waited on hand and foot. They paid with exact change.

This isn't a fine dining or casual&chill/laidback spot. Most of everyone's money here comes from turning tables. What gives with these types of people? How do you control the flow of your tables?
