I work at a restaurant that does private dining events with a 3rd party doing everything except providing space and food/service.
One of the big regular events we host is dining in the dark. People come in, put a blindfold on and then get taken through a 4 course meal. It's a whole thing. But it's a lot of fun.
Two weeks ago we paused the event until December 14th. Yet, unbeknownst to our restaurant, the 3rd party company was still allowing people to buy the not inexpensive ticket for this event as recently as yesterday.
It's a formal event so people are driving an hour plus to get to the restaurant. They're all dressed very nicely. The weather is totally shit out. I feel awful for everyone. People are pissed.
The 3rd party company didn't show up so clearly they fucked up big time not sending out cancellations and refunds. It was supposed to be a pretty slow Tuesday night. Instead I ended up doing my best to save some people's nights from being ruined.
To hell with that damn company who's name I feel like I probably shouldn't say.
