So this is my first post here. I’m a bartender at a local wing place in a small town where we get a lot of cottagers/entitled city people. Last night was fairly busy for a Sunday, we now have the option to dine in instead of just take out so I had a couple tables going and a few people at the bar, and I was by myself.

So I notice these two men outside wearing masks looking in and they wave me over. I had an extra moment so I went outside and asked them if I could help them with something. They asked if they had to wear masks inside to order takeout. I pointed to the large sign on the door they were just looking through that says yes, you have to wear masks inside the restaurant. They kinda groan, and ask if I can bring them out a takeout menu. I shrug and agree because I figured they’d be coming in to order. Keep in mind again they’ve been still wearing masks while standing outside the entire time.

I head back inside because I still have tables to look after only to hear them knocking on the door about five minutes later gesturing me out again. I roll my eyes a little this time but go out and ask them what else I can help with. They say they’re ready to order. I ask if they’d like to come inside then so I can punch it in for them and give them a total. They say no, you can take it out here. I sigh and take their order, trying my best to stay polite as possible as they take their time ordering one meal to share. I get back inside and punch in their order as they go to sit in their nice shiny expensive convertible car. I finish with my other tables and when their food is ready I wave at them from inside and they shake their heads and gesture for me again. Annoyed, I shake my head again and wait for them to come inside. They won’t. So I end up standing just outside the door. They ask me to bring it to their car. “Sorry sir, we don’t do curbside delivery. You need to come here and pay your bill and get your food.” (Again they’re both still wearing masks) they finally relent and come up and pay for their food and take it. As they’re walking away they tell me “you know you wouldn’t have had to do all this extra work if you allowed us in without masks” and I just shook my head and walked back inside.

They were wearing masks outside the entire time? Why couldn’t they have come in with them? I swear some people are so dumb these days.
