Why do you think it is okay to come to someone’s home and knock that loud?!
Post Body

I was delivering food to an apartment during the day. I get to the apartment and knock on the door. I wait about 50-60 seconds because some people take time to gather their money. I knock a second time and wait. I knock a third time and wait. The 4th time I knock pretty loud because it’s been about 5 minutes of knocking at a normal level and I’m out of options. All of a sudden I hear this lady from the other side of the door say, ‘Who is it?’ in a nervous/annoyed voice. (As if she isn’t the one that ordered food 20 minutes ago and doesn’t have a peep hole where she could see me in uniform with her food).

Me: It’s the food you ordered.

Lady: (cracks door open and begins yelling) Why do you think it is okay to come to my home and knock on my door so loud?!

(I try to explain, but she won’t stop interrupting and yelling at me.)

Finally she ends with rudely yelling, “Can we just hurry this up and give me my food?”

Me: No (I keep her food in my hand). Like I was trying to tell you, I knocked on your door 3 times and you didn’t answer. I am sorry I scared you, but you didn’t answer for 5 minutes while I knocked at a normal level.

Lady: Well I didn’t hear you those times!

Me: I know. That is how we got here.

I hand her her food and leave.

This. Whenever I order food to be delivered, I ALWAYS put my number for them to call or text me when they arrive. I had one guy from my local patriarchal pizza place ignore that part completely and the poor kid nearly started crying when I had to fight my 115 lb Dogo at the door
