yesterday, I was scheduled 5pm to 10pm. The day before yesterday, my manager asked me if i could come in at 4pm instead of 5, cus she forgot to schedule anyone for 4pm, and I was like.. yea, I can do that :3
stayed up till like 3am playing League of Legends (as I often do, as night time is the only free time i have for playing cus of my parents).
I'm not a morning person, but unexpectedly, I get a call at 9:30am, it was my manager, she tells me there would be no morning driver, and if i could come in, she said she would call others to cover me in the afternoon, so i'm like.. Ok, I'll come in (says the ever so the loyal worker).
So i come in, work the morning shift, even though i wasn't scheduled to come in (didn't have breakfast or anything). by 5pm, the next driver should be in, but lo and behold, the driver that was supposed to come in, called in..
My manager tried calling other drivers, even drivers that belonged to other stores, no dice... so my manager asked me how late i could stay, I said till 6pm would be nice, then she said I need you to stay later if you can.. and I'm like.. ok
So, there goes my plans for the afternoon, which I guess i don't mind, i was making good tips (I just had different expectations).
later that evening, we had another manager take over shift, he and the 6:30pm driver had a bit of a dispute, I almost thought that driver had rage quit cus he walked out on my manager, and he was supposed to be the closing driver, and I thought... "Oh... No..... I am not closing....."
(My store isn't just a delivery and carry out spot, we also have dine ins, so you can only imagine what closing is like at my Pizzahut.. closing at my store usually means staying up till 1:30am doing prep, doing dishes, throwing the trash out, cleaning sinks, sweeping, mopping, etc. etc. etc....)
To my relief, the other driver came back, i guess he left to cool off, but i was sweating... it had already been a 10 hour shift for me (instead of my regular 5, it almost turned into 16 hour day...)
Sometimes, I'm too dependable...
