so, in the 3 years i've worked at Pizzahut, this happened to me once, and it happened at one of the worst possible locations we deliver to...
so what happened was that i had the ticket in hand, and because I had the ticket in hand and walking out, i had this preconceived notion that the pizza was already there with me in the back seat.
Now the reason why this couldn't have happened at a worst time, is because it happened for a delivery that is at the very edge of our delivery zone, a 5 mile distance. (usually 10 minutes of travel)
So I get to my delivery location, blissfully unaware that my pizza was still sitting nice and warm in the warmer...
I wanted to hide under a rock when i faced the customer and told her I had accidentally left the store without her pizza..
she was annoyed, but at least didn't crucify me, and my manager was laughing her ass off at the absurdity of it all. She knows i'm one of the best employees they have, and knew it was a legitimate mistake, so she let me off easy.
however... 10 minutes to get there, 10 minutes ride back, 10 minutes to get there again, and 10 minutes ride back... all in all.. a 20 mile delivery run, sucking up almost an entire hour.. it sucked, but eh... could have been worse, much worse, lol.
