GM threatening chargeback bill for drivers?
Post Body

So this is a new one. GM told us today that some of the credit cards lately have been not going through. The way it works at my store is that they pay out all tips CC at the end of the night. The GM is now saying because a bunch of credit cards over the last month have failed to go through they're going to hit every driver with a bill to pay back what tips they've paid out on those CC transactions that didn't go through.

So thats....interesting but strikes me as not so legal?

Thoughts? Similar encounters?

My biggest concern is I don't really know how to defend myself against this. What if taking away those tips puts me under minimum wage for those days? What if they're taking more than they're supposed to pocket some? I don't get access to the same information they do, and its not like I have insanely detailed information about deliveries/tips from a month ago.
