Customers try telling us how it is gonna work....
Post Body

I work at a small town pizza place, wonderful food, and wonderful customers (mostly). About a half mile up the road is a Catholic church and school. They order every couple of weeks, and everything is fine. Normally they are nice enough, and they tip. But this one lady, she just....is bad. She came in for lunch the other day, and was talking to the owner about an order for later. She mentions that she tried to order the other day but we tried to stick a delivery charge on it. Well, no shit, you wanted it delivered. So she told the guy on the phone she is gonna go somewhere else, and gets takeout from next door. SERIOUSLY? You want us to do our job for free, when you are more than willing to go the short distance to get something else. If you want the pizza with no delivery charge, PICK IT UP.

My boss caved, and told her next time she gets a discount too. I don't care who you are, how would you feel if someone expected you to do your job for free?! Honestly the distance is short and it isn't a big deal, but it was the entitled attitude that she had about it. I told my boss I am not doing my job for no pay, and he said he doesn't like it either, but they have influence in town, and pissing them off can be bad. Everyone else at that church/school never complains about it and understands except this lady.
