Working off the clock, how common?
Post Body

Let me start off by saying I work with Dominos. Generally the biggest source of unpaid labor is closing shifts as the manager cannot finish their end of night stuff until everyone is clocked out. Ideally, this means that after everything is done I clock out and wait 10 minutes for my manager to finish up.

In reality, what often happens is I'm asked to clock out 30 minutes before i'm even done cleaning and I have to continue to work unpaid. In the worst case scenario, I was asked to clock off at 1:30, and I wasn't done working till 2:45.

At first, I thought maybe it was just a shitty manager, but in the 6 months I've worked I've gone through 4 GMs, and all but one had an (unsaid) "unpaid labor is part of closing" philosophy.

I'm just curious how widespread this is? I know its a labor law violation, but to be honest I could write a book on the amount of labor law violations my dominos commits.
