I'm coming up on my one-year work anniversary at my local casino resort, and it has been quite a year! All sorts of memories, both good and bad, have been made, including this notable one from last Summer during an overnight shift...

OP: Me

SSP: Super Shiny Player

Sup: Supervisor

It's 3 AM on a sold-out night at the casino. I've done most of the audit duties, and have restocked supplies at the desks. All there is to do is just wait around for 5:15 to roll around so I can get some breakfast from the cafeteria. As visions of biscuits and gravy danced in my head, Mr. Super Shiny Player comes up to the desk with his personal entourage, appearing to be tipsy from all the comped booze he could drink before he was presumably cut off. I then greet SSP and his posse, who ask me a simple question:

SSP: Hey, I was wondering if you have any comp rooms available tonight.

OP: Unfortunately, we're all sold out for the night. I can get you a list of area hotels to ca-

SSP: What do you mean you don't have any rooms? Here's my player's card, you can check my play!

OP: I'm afraid we've comped or sold all the rooms we have on property for the night; I do apologize for that.

SSP: I don't believe you; I need a room because I've been drinking all night, and need somewhere to sleep. Call my Host, she'll vouch for me!

OP: I'm sorry, but all the Hosts have gone home at 2 AM. It's now 3 AM, and we have zero rooms available. I wish I could've helped you earlier.

SSP: This is bullshit, I know you have rooms set aside for Super Shiny Tier Members. CALL MY HOST! CALL ANY HOST!

OP: I can get a Supervisor for you if you like, but they won't be able to get you into a room.

SSP: Go right ahead!

I then call the Supervisor on Duty to relay what just happened; she then comes out to the desk to explain how there are no rooms left, and all the Hosts have gone home.

Sup: Unfortunately, we've sold out of all our rooms for the night, and all our Hosts have gone home about an hour ago.

SSP: That's bullshit, man! I'm a Top Tier, Super Shiny Player, I've lost over $100,000 tonight alone, and I'm absolutely fuckin' wasted! You have to get me a room tonight!

Sup: I understand sir, but we don't have any rooms left for the night. I can get you a cab voucher if you like.

SSP: I'm not leaving my expensive-ass Ferrari in the garage for the night, and I'm not driving home either! You want me to get into an accident?

Sup: No I don't sir, but if you continue to behave like this, I'll have to call Security.

SSP: Go ahead, call them!

So the Supervisor calls Security at the Guest's request. Moments later, we explain the whole situation to the guard, who then escorts SSP and his posse away from the desk. Hopefully he found somewhere else to sleep that night.

Just less than a week later, SSP returns to the desk to personally apologize to me and the Supervisor for his drunken tantrum that night. I let him know that I appreciate the heartfelt apology, and wished him a pleasant night.
