So this happened to me yesterday. I’m a night auditor so I’m pretty used to problems made during the day shifts to be handed off to me to deal with. This is one of those times.

Girl who works mornings does nearly everything half-heartedly, show’s up 2 hours late or more, OR just does a no call no show, and will constantly screw with our policies mainly because she hasn’t taken the time to remember them(boss cant find anyone to take the morning shift so I’m stuck there for usually 10 hours because of her). Check in is at 3, she gets off at 3. Perfect for her not to mess up check ins. Unfortunately she didn’t remember this and decided to “check in” guests at 1 in the afternoon. Problem is that she never fully checked them in because she didn’t know how to, and gave them the keys anyways. Guests leave without going in the room for god knows what reason, and come back at 2 in the morning. My shift.

Well during the very beginning of my shift I gave room 227 to a nice man and his wife. 227 was also the room morning girl gave to the early birds, so they were pretty upset about walking in on two people chilling in the room they were already promised.

So because of this very lazy and no so well caught up coworker, I spent a good half hour being yelled at for something that was entirely not my fault, and on top of that I had no power over any discounts over $20. Yal know how guests are. I may not have any power to fix their shitty situation, but boy will you be damned if screaming at me doesn’t make s o m e t h i n g happen.

In the end they got a full comp in the morning from my boss and I’m not leaving a note for the next “big incident” that happens during my shift to be petty. Real tired of her shit.
