I had to get a hotel room tonight because my landlord forgot to pay the electric bill and it won’t be reconnected until tomorrow. I didn’t have any expectations except for a room with a bed. And at $98, I figured it would probably be one of the lower end rooms. Since I’ve worked at a hotel, I had my ID and my credit card ready to go when I got to the front desk.
Everything else goes as expected. Signed the no smoking policy and receipt. Keys are made. Breakfast hours given, pointed towards the elevator. The Works. When I arrive in my room; however, I am amazed. Not only is it much larger than I was expecting but it also has a jacuzzi!
So now I’m relaxing enjoying the jets against my back. I’ve read on here how FDAs will often put polite check-ins into the better rooms. I have no way of knowing if being prepared and nice got me into this room. But I know being a dick would definitely have NOT gotten me into this room. Moral of the story: it pays to be nice.
Thank Ms. FDA at my hotel and thank you all for all that you do everyday!
