Making fake reservations to hit threshold?

Hey yāall, I know this isnāt really a tale but a question. Iām a very tired FOM who just got chewed out by my manager for us being off by a few rooms to hit threshold and that we should have āmade reservationsā in order to hit it. This has been a thing at this property for a while now and I never really thought much of the process until now. Does anyone else know of a hotel or work at a hotel that does this?
