Last night I come in for my night auditor shift and my FDA(I'm FOM) asks if i got her message about this new reservation that popped in with a fraud alert trace. I hadn't because I was driving so she showed me. I hadn't ever seen anything like it in my year here so I said I'll look into it more once i get settled.

I go into the office and put my bag down and I see a lady basically charging up to the front desk after being let in so I went out the side door of the office and I heard my FDA reviewing you know who's reservation. FDA asks for her government badge or work orders since it was booked government per diem rate.

G: I dont have those I told reservations I didn't have them just check me in. FD: we require either of those to verify you are actually here on government business if you dont have them we will have to switch it to best available rate G: no I told them so you have to honor the rate. I walk up and back up my fda letting guest know we do reguire them. G: who are you? I want a manager! M: I am the front office manager. We will have to switch you to the best available if you dont have those like she's said.

So she agrees to that so I leave to go back to getting settled in. Apparently after I left she wanted discounts and has AAA so when informed she needed her card she threw a fit about that then went off about having to provide vehicle information. She gets checked in goes to her room. I relieve my FDA and 20 minutes later have to go up to the 4th floor to check something in a room for my GM. I come down to find her waiting to buy some drinks

G: there's someone on the fourth floor running up and down the hall M: that's odd because I was just on that floor and there wasnt another person out in the hall so I didn't hear anything G: well someone was. M: ok ill review cameras then. Got her rang up and she waddled back to the elevator. Like im not trying to be mean but she legit walked like a penguin

I start doing my sundry drink inventory when I see her wander by out the front door. She stops just outside the door keeping the sensor engaged ti leave the door open. Im like what the heck now so i stop what im doing and start to walk through the first set of doors(there's two) and see her standing there smoking. So i let her know she has to be 10 feet away from the entrance if she wants to smoke

G:there's no ash tray ten feet away M: there's no ash tray right here either because oregon state law requires no smoking within 10 feet of a building entrance. G: but its raining! M: the breezeway canopy covers enough you can be ten feet away over there and be dry.

I go back inside and she comes through after her smoke grumbling something who knows what. Don't see her again but I let my morning girl know do not extend her. She reads profile notes and understands why. Well turns out a little bit after I leave sure enough she calls down complaining that she got no sleep because there was someone running in the halls and she demands to speak to a manager. Morning FDA lets her know our AGM will give her a call shortly

My AGM does not put up with any guest bs. She reads the notes reviewed footage and sees no one in any halls till almost 6am besides me doing my security walks. So she calls guest, guest says there was someone running and kicking doors and yelling. AGM says she reviewed footage and my notes saying you had spoken to our FOM who let you know no one was up there running. Guest said that i was lying and there was someone all night long running. AGM says footage shows other wise but we can offer you 500 points and 20 bucks off your rate from last night.

Guest says no i want my night comped you can do that and i want to stay tonight too. Well long story short she got told no on the comped room refused to come down to extend and give her ID and cc for the new reservation because we dont extend we make new reservations. She said she was staying till 230 if she wasn't gonna be allowed to check in over the phone. She got told if you arent out by 1pm the cops will be called. She left at 1pm vowing to never stay here again. All her scam tactics explain the fraud trace now

TLDR: guest tries to scam us after reservations alerts us to fraud activity and it doesn't work out for her
