So I work for a large retail chain that pretty much everyone knows it. So we used to be open 24hrs but a couple years ago we started closing at midnight and people always all what time we close. Also another important piece of info. No matter what holiday we will be open except Christmas. So onto the story.
So I'm standing by the front door checking people's receipts and maybe small talk. Two ladies walk up and hands me their receipt.
Lady: so what time so you guys close.
Me: we close at midnight everyday except Christmas Eve we're closing at 6pm and we'll be closed all day Christmas.
Lady: well that inconvenient and rude don't you think
Me: (internally)well that's just too damn bad for you (externally) well I'm sorry but have a good night
I hate how some people think us retail workers are just here to serve them whenever they need us. We have lives too people.
