You can meet some crazy people while bagging
So yesterday as I'm finishing up bagging an order I look up to the sound of the card scanner beeping furiously. The lady who just finished paying is frantically pressing each of the buttons on the keypad much to the cashier's confusion.
Cashier "Your order is already completed Ma'am you don't need to press anything else"
Customer "I need to press all the buttons or someone else is going to take a picture of them and use my fingerprints to take figure out my phone number."
She walked off without further comment.
Note: She wasn't pressing the screen but the rubber buttons below it.
Yep, this can be done. Thanks to the guys at Verifone and their "3 finger salute", i had to be weary of kids messing with the pinpad. If i remember, ours were something like 137 or 139 pressed simultaneously to reset the pin pad and lock the register up while it reboots.

Well there's some wonderful irony to this, while it may cause the pad to lock up and reset; but if the pin pad locked up mid payment due to a system error, we could use that same Salute to unlock it. So it has it's use's. I still think it's a terrible setup though. What ever happened to having a recessed master reset button?
