I'm currently a cashier at a pretty big supermarket. This spanish lady came into my ten items or fewer line with like 35 items. I didn't catch her before she started unloading so I had to take her. The line started going back through the aisle because I had to ring it all up, bag it, and deal with her 30 coupons by myself. At the end, i very politely said "Ma'am, just for future reference, the Orange light up there means that this is for ten items only (it also had it written there largely) so please go to the appropriate register next time you are here." She just looked at me with this bitch face and said "EXCUSE ME!?!?" I then repeated myself, thinking that maybe she didn't understand me due to her extremely thick spanish accent (I could barely understand her). She then just walked away. 10 minutes later the manager calls me up to the front. The lady is sitting there complaining about how rude I was to her, and that I only said what I said "to embarrass her in front of other customers." And that's how I got my first (and only) write up at work. The best part is, is when she first came into my line with a kart full and a fuck load of coupons, she stressed the fact that she was in such a big rush. Though she was able to take the 15 minutes and file a complaint about me. I fucking hate people.
