I have worked in retail at several places, and had good and bad experiences but this is my absolute best experience. I worked at a women's clothing store in a mall, and I really liked it because I could really talk to customers and get to know them. Some of the customers were just so awesome.
The first day I met one of my customers, we got to talking about her kids. She had a boy/girl set of twins, and then she mentioned that she had to go through infertility treatments to get them. At that point, my husband and I had been trying for almost 3 years to have a child. I shared that with her and she wished me luck and then left. About 2 weeks later she came back in and recognized me and asked how things were going. I had just had another negative that morning, and so I was very emotional. I just broke down crying, and she grabbed me and hugged me for like 5 minutes. She said, "I know how hard it is, and I am thinking of you." when she left she had tears in her eyes too. She was so sweet, it really sticks out in my mind.
EDIT: Thank you guys for the support! So many people can be so ugly about this type of thing, and all of you have been amazing!
