I just wanted a second opinion on something that happened during a run of PoTD 51-60 run.
So after the usual greetings between fellow DPS levelers, an unlucky battle mentor bard gets pox'd on floor 1. That's unfortunate and we've all been there. I totally get it but also trying to squeeze in some advice I say "yeah, I hate when I miss the interrupt on that". I dunno if they actually knew it was interruptible or attempted it since I wasn't there for when it happened. I just know bard gets it before they get access to their job stone and trying to drop passive hints without being too aggressive about it.
I thought it would end there, but they continue to complain about it for a good 5 floors. They kept going on about how they're going to die and how this content is garbage for requiring good luck on a purity pom. I'm honestly irritated at this point but I don't say anything more since the other two seemed to be really empathic with their woes or just trying to prevent this mentor from blowing a gasket. They do eventually die from looking at one of those eye ball mechanics, which is unfortunate. We go to the statue to res them back up but they just take the dot damage and die again.....
Now they're going full on aggro on this game about how unfair the status is and how frustrating it is to not have healing during it. I assume they meant natural regen, but on the off chance this mentor didn't know that healing actions and items still worked I tried to drop a passive hint "Yeah it sucks. Fortunately we get a ton of max potions for running this content". They either didn't care for my comment or just wanted to spite me. Because right after this they decide to stay dead to wait out the remaining 2 minutes of the pox status. I was so ready to go off on this person but the other two enablers gave this mentor the "sure np".
So here I am stress out over being held hostage in content that should take only take around 15 minutes max because someone decided to drag their feet the whole run. In some sort of sick fate I get pox'd because apparently mimics are stun immune at this floor level. We looted a purity but I decided against using it to prove a point. The run goes smooth regardless, I even get to tank the boss. I leave with a "guess that purity wasn't needed after all". I sort of felt that went too far but they said we got it too late to use, so they didn't even have the awareness to notice my pox status and the point. I get a DM later from one of the other in the party saying they understood my frustration but me being passive aggressive doesn't help anyone and I should learn to be patient. I'm too shocked at this point and log off for the night.
So, am I the asshole? I know I was being a bit passive aggressive but I did give helpful advice to prevent it from happening again and a solution to deal with it.
