There have been many articles from various news media lately claiming that Tajikistan has apparently banned the hijab recently using the Crocus City Hall attack in Moscow as a motive because the perpetrators were Tajik citizens. Is this true or is it fake news? I know the government previously banned black hijabs, prefering for women to wear more traditional Tajik clothing and thus colored hijabs and that men have to shave their beards if they are deemed too long by the authorities. So what's the truth here? Has Tajikistan definitely banned women from wearing hijabs?
