Xinyi nightlife for a solo business traveler?

I (46/m from California) be in Taipei for business in mid-November, staying at the Grand Hyatt in Xinyi. After a day of being in "business mode," where can I go that's reasonably near the hotel, after the required but exhausting business dinners, to let loose a bit? Good drinks and friendly people - expats, locals, anyone - who's looking to blow off steam from a long day, even during the week. Is there any such place in Taipei? I'd love to hear whatever recommendations the knowledgeable people here may have. Thanks, and cheers to everyone!
