How can I authenticate a headless device?

Post Body

Right now I have about 30 pi's running in a ZeroTier network. All of the pis are headless. Adding a new pi is easy for me: I built a custom image that connects to the network on first boot. All I have to do is go to the control panel and authorize the add. I only have to break out the monitor if I suspect something went wrong.

I want to try out Tailscale for its DNS, but I'm reading the docs and it says to open a link in the browser to authenticate. I can't do that: the pis are headless. Is there a way to mimic the same process as ZT?
