Purchase or tailor waistcoat to match 2 piece suit for men

Hi there,
I have a two piece suit and i was debating going to a store and picking up a waistcoat to match the suit or getting one tailored for it in either contrasting or matching colors.
Is it worth going to a tailor with this plan in plan? Should I contrast or try and match it?
Any thoughts or opinions would be great.
