can i cut the crotch off my mesh bodysuit to make it a top?

i have a bodysuit that i can’t fit over my hips/glutes, and it doesn’t have a snap crotch so i can’t get it on over my head. i’m between returning it or cutting the crotch off so i can wear it as a normal top. it’s a mesh material and i know that mesh tends to unravel if you cut it. i’m wondering if this will be wearable if i cut it or if it will fall apart. it says it’s 90% polyester and 10% spandex
