Every single Hitchhiker I seem to face seems to exploit the bug, whether they're aware or not, by placing traps on all or most ladders on the map that the victims may come out of, completely breaking the game for the victim because they can't fall down wells, use crawls, desks, or gaps, or basically do anything to escape the family other than run through doors.
What am I supposed to do against this tactic? Just avoid ladder exits? It's especially annoying on Slaughter House and Gas Station, where the ladders are a good and common option to get out of the basement.
Because of the forced camera perspective, you also can't see the trap coming until it's too late so you can drop back down. Every other Hitchhiker trap has some form of counterplay where you can SEE the damn thing before you're able to step on it.
